Sunday Funday: Work Out with Me!

Coming to the end of my first bodybuilding-style training block, and this lift has easily been one of my favorites: Upper glutes + Shoulders (two areas I absolutely love working on! 💪🍑😍🤌 ).

It’s extra fun that this one usually lands on a Sunday: empty gym, unlimited access to equipment, zero chaos. Truly my version of a Sunday Funday. Also it currently feels very much like the calm before the New Year gym storm!

If you’re craving some movement this week (and no pressure if it’s a recovery day—those count too), save this workout for a quiet, ghosted-gym session before things get busy again. You’ll absolutely feel your glutes and shoulders working!

A few reminders I’m taking seriously lately:

  • ✅ Full range of motion. I didn’t realize how much tension I was holding at the top/bottom of lifts—using my actual ROM has meant better results and way less pain.
  • 📉 Drop ego, drop weight when needed. Sensation and control > loading just because you can.
  • 🙅‍♀️Don’t just go through the motions. Think about the pattern, connect to the target muscles, and let them initiate the work—not the synergistic helpers. It is wildly possible to “train glutes” for years while everything else takes over and tries to do the job for them (ask me how I know 😅🙈🤣 ).
