6 months down, 6 to go...again.

It's that time of year.

Did you notice? Or did it sneak up on you...again? 🙈

It's always hard to believe that half the year is gone as we jump into July, but...here we are!

Can you believe that in 6 months we'll be staring down 2027, Christmas already in our rearview mirrors?! 🤯

It's truly wild how time flies

I was reminded recently from a fun Netflix show we've been enjoying here in Japan called Rebooting that this is because of how time feels relative - when we are 3 years old, one year is a third of our life and feels incredibly long...when will Christmas be here?!?

But with each passing year, another year is a smaller and smaller percentage of our longer life, making it feel like it passes comparatively quickly.

This also explains why days seem to disappear before we have a chance to get much done or make much progress...and how easy it is to arrive at mid-year feeling a little bit stuck, scattered, or like you somehow missed your chance to “get it together.”

So here's your reminder, if you need one...mid-way through this year that may be passing more quickly than you care to clock:

Nothing has gone wrong. You are not behind.

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans...and that's perfectly okay!

If the idea that half of 2026 is already gone is a bit hard to grasp, perhaps reframe a bit to acknowledge this truth, too:

You still have half a year left.

  • 6 months to reflect on how things have been going
  • 26.5 weeks to reassess + refocus on your priorities
  • 185 days to realign, recalibrate + recommit, carrying forward what matters most to you

Here's a quick mid-year check-in to get you (re)-started:

  • Reflect: What’s something you’re genuinely proud of from Jan–June?
  • 🎯Refocus: What would be meaningful to have accomplished by December?
  • Recommit: What’s one small step you can take today?
