Another Year, Another Adventure! ✌️
When I first met Justin, I was afraid that studying abroad might make us a temporary thing.
Instead, in 2005, we went to opposite ends of the world (him to Japan, and me to Honduras), grew in mind-altering, worldview-shifting ways, shared one single skype call 🤯(and countless emails), and, perhaps surprisingly, came back six months later, even more committed to building a life together!
Fast forward through 15 years of work, teaching and consulting, starting businesses, and a whole lot of life and trips back to Japan together (starting in 2009), and we finally lived there for a year a decade later (2019-2020, which, in retrospect, was a great way to try out our current situation and future plans: 5 years later, we’re building a place to keep coming home to.)
Twenty years after your first trip, Japan is still part of our story in the best way, and truly feels like a second home. 🇯🇵 So very grateful for this unconventional life we keep choosing, again and again.
Happy birthday, baby! 🤟I miss you and I can't wait for what's next. ✌️
