Why Try Going Dry?
Not drinking for a month won’t magically fix all of your problems.
But it might help you:
- 😴 sleep better
- 💪 recover faster
- 😓 feel less overwhelmed
- 🤔 understand your habits more clearly
My own sober-curious journey started a couple of years ago with a “failed” Dry January attempt that didn’t stick. And yet somehow…that experience was still exactly the baby step I needed to get to where I am today.
On today's episode of the podcast, I’m sharing what 15 months without alcohol has taught me personally about sleep, stress, recovery, and boundaries, and why curiosity works better than control in the long-run. I also share the science of what we know about alcohol and cancer / chronic disease risk, without the side of pressure, diet detox culture, or moralizing.
Finally I suggest how you might approach Dry (or Damp) January as a behavioral experiment to practice curiosity and trying on a new way of exploring your habits and tendencies, rather than as a forever decision. This conversation is not about perfection and detoxing, or shaming and moralizing. 🙅♀️ It’s about exploration, data, and self-trust. So, If ever find yourself curious about what life (and your health!) could look and feel like with a little less alcohol, this episode is for you. ✅
